Reaction-Tune with Optoelectronics
The Reaction-Tune is one of the most intersting features between 2 different products ever. The Optoelectronics handheld counters Scout, Digital-Scout, Xplorer etc. provide a seriell communication port to be connected to the older ICOM scanners like R10. The R20 cause a little problem, because Speaker-Out and CI-V Data-Port is one plug. So you will switch of the speaker audio in the moment you plug in the communication port from the frequency counter.
I solves the problem this way:
Basic connection
(for cable Scout > R20; speaker will be switched of, audio recorder will work):
Scout side: center pin of 2,5 mm plug = data
R20 side: ring = data (NOT the center pin)
Advanced connection:
(Scout to R 20 with addapter to get the audio to a second plug)
Scout side: center pin of 2,5 mm plug = data
R 20: use of stereo / mono adapter 3,5mm stereo into 2* 3,5mm mono
. Please check which side will have the
a) connection from 3,5mm mono to 3,5mm center pin = Audio side
b) connection 3,5mm stereo ring to the 3,5mm mono out on the other side = data from Scout
