During Dayton Hamvention 2006 I met a new friend, my “Buddipole”. I bought one of the “deluxe pachage” for all 40-6m portable use.

The Installation

This weekend I spend some time to build up my Buddipole for the first time.

Read the manual first, use an SWR  analyser like the MFJ 259 for the first time.

I followed the instructions, installed the clips and tested the different SWR under different constructions.

Over all:

one of the best made toy I ever bought, the quality of all parts is great, easy to handl, nothing looks or feel cheap, everything high quality parts and products

After the first horizontal test... I installed the additional parts and tried the V-version. Different angle and with the first call an QSO cross Europe on 20m

See the SWR I got at the initial installation... no more comments on that

See the FT 897 (without any tuner) for SWR display and Power display.... also... no more comment on that story.... perfect!

I can recommend the Buddipole for the quality and the easy-installation-with-low-SWR from now on. For the real on-air use I will try it during our summer vacation to EA6 island
